USD and CAD conversions of up to $100,000 US can be requested online, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm ET.
Here’s how to submit a request online
- Sign on to CIBC Investor’s Edge and go to Transfers and Exchange, then select Exchange Currency.
- Fill in all the required information and follow the instructions.
- It may take up to a couple of hours to post foreign exchange orders to your account once they’re entered. Check Transaction History to see your entries because they will not be available in Order Status.
Here’s what you need to know about online foreign exchange requests
- Once an order is sent, it is final and can’t be modified or cancelled.
- Online requests aren’t available for all account types, and they cannot be made by agents with limited trading authority. If a confirmed order can’t be processed, we will send a notification to the email address you provided. Requests will be declined if there aren’t enough funds available at the time the order is processed. Transactions won’t be carried out using available margin room.
